We're trading card collectors and broke the world record for largest Pokmon collection - the 10 ca

TWO brothers from Denmark have several Pokémon cards that are worth thousands of dollars.

The siblings, Jens Ishøy Prehn and Per Ishøy Nielsen, have over 32,000 trading cards and own several rare cards worth a big chunk of money.

THOUSAND DOLLAR CARDS

Although the brothers have thousands of Pokémon cards, only a few of them are worth thousands.

Here is the list of their top 10 valuable Pokémon cards:

  • First Edition Charizard - $20,000
  • Espeon Gold Star - $15,000
  • First Edition Jungle Version Vaporian - $7,500
  • Champions Festival from 2017 World Championship - $5,000
  • Tropical Tidal Wave from 2005 World Championship - $5,000
  • Gold Star Kyogre - $3,550
  • Vaporeon - $3,500
  • Shining Charizard - $3,500
  • Championship Arena from 2005 World Championship - $2,500
  • Gold Star Pikachu - $2,200
  • Several of the cards were described as being in perfect condition, or "as close to perfect condition as it can be."

These included the Vaporeon card worth $3,500, and the Gold Star Kyogre.

The most valuable card, the First Edition Charizard, also has a high value due to its condition.

The card was graded a nine on a scale of one to 10, meaning the card is in mint condition.

According to one of the brothers, the card now worth $15,000 was one of the first expensive cards he bought.

However, back then, the Espeon card was not worth nearly as much.

He said that Pokémon cards gain value due to supply and demand, but that over the past few years they have exploded in price.

Often the brothers were told to stop spending money on Pokémon cards, but their investment may have paid off.

    A WORLD RECORD

The brothers have been collecting Pokémon cards for most of their adult lives.

Last year, they beat the Guinness World Record for the largest Pokémon collection.

At the time, they had 32,809 Pokémon cards.

In a video posted by the Guinness World Records, the brothers show off their collection.

They have a curated collection of their most interesting cards on display, as well as hundreds of binders and boxes full of cards.

On obtaining the world record, they called it "surreal" and said that they had been working so long to reach the goal.

However, they say that they're not done collecting cards and aim to beat their own world record.

    IT'S LEGIT

The brothers advise on how to tell if a Pokémon card is legitimate.

One says: "Once you've had the first million cards in your hands, you just feel it."

They can immediate tell just by the card's feel if it's fake or not.

The brothers said that if you rip a card in half, "a real card will have a black layer in the middle" that is easy to see.

However, if you think your card is valuable, they don't recommend ripping it in half to check its authenticity.
